Dear CEOs,This is Kim Hyun Soo, the Head PD of CounterSide.We thank all our CEOs for all the support and love sent to CounterSide.In this month's Dev Notes, we'll provide more details about the upcoming updates during April.[ New Substream - Moonlight ]As introduced in the last Dev Notes, the new substream, Moonlight, will be updated.Lucia Ridge, who has been making money through fraud under the guise of exorcism, receives a request from a wealthy client and heads to a mansion. Expecting easy cash, she instead finds herself confronted with mysterious supernatural phenomena.Even amid chaos, Lucia is determined to earn as much money as possible while resolving the situation.Uncover Lucia’s true motives and the nature of the supernatural events she encounters in the upcoming substream, Moonlight, coming up on the next update on April 1. [ New Awakened Employee - Exorcist Lucia Ridge ]The main protagonist of Moonlight, Lucia Ridge, will be updated along with the substream.Lucia is a Counter-type Striker who unleashes special attacks in response to Hitstun and CC. Moreover, she is designed as a melee character who disrupts the nearby enemy's skill activation.Lucia exploits people's fear of the unknown for her gain.Lucia Ridge sometimes takes on the role of a devout cleric, while at other times, she acts as a greedy miser, moving solely to fulfill her objectives. While her true purpose remains a mystery, one thing is certain—amassing wealth brings her a sense of stability.Stay tuned to see what Lucia’s true motives are and what kind of performance she will deliver.◆ Exorcist Lucia Ridge [ New Employee - Katharina ]The next Counter Pass employee after Vanguard Exorcist Nicole Primer is Katharina.Katharina is a 3-cost Counter-type Supporter who can nullify debuffs on allies and provide buffs to enhance combat effectiveness.In the story, Katharina is a young girl striving to overcome the curse placed upon her. As a devout nun, she prays to God every day, pleading for her curse to be lifted, and drinks grape juice to quench the thirst caused by the curse.Though she may appear cold and blunt, Katharina is quite clumsy, yearning, and a spoiled child.She also possesses a charming contrast, revealing a completely different side to those who earn her trust.We hope the CEOs look forward to discovering Katharina’s many unique charms. ◆ Katharina[ New Gauntlet Season ]On March 30 at 08:00 (UTC-5), the 2025 Royal Season will end, and starting March 31, the 2025 Devoted Season will begin.As previously announced, the Gauntlet changes will take effect in the upcoming season.However, while many of the CEOs have expressed satisfaction with certain aspects of the changes, we have also received concerns and valuable feedback. The development team has made some adjustments based on the input.Firstly, the removal of point deductions upon defeat will now only apply up to Grand Master League 1. This means that until the CEOs reach the Challenger League, CEOs can challenge the Gauntlet without worrying about losing points.In addition, we plan to expand the match with the NPC up to Grand Master 1 for cases where matchmaking does not occur within a certain period. This improvement will allow CEOs to continue to play matches even when it is difficult to find opponents.However, since continuous participation will allow CEOs to eventually reach the Challenger League, the league requirement to obtain the exclusive Gauntlet skins will be adjusted to Challenger League 3 or higher.We understand that many CEOs highly value the limited Gauntlet skins. While we carefully considered the feedback, these skins serve as rewards for those who achieve specific milestones in the Gauntlet. Thus, this adjustment was necessary, and we ask for the CEOs' understanding.Secondly, many of the CEOs expressed concerns about reducing the number of bans. The development team acknowledges these concerns, and after careful consideration, we have decided to maintain the current number of bans.Moreover, as mentioned in the previous developer notes, any employees that have already been banned at Ban 1 or higher will no longer be selectable for voting in the Casting Ban system.Lastly, the limited Gauntlet skins and frames from previous seasons will be available for purchase in the Gauntlet Shop.These limited skins and frames will be added to the shop in order of release each time a new limited Gauntlet skin is introduced.Starting with the 2025 Devoted Season, where the [Empress of the End World – Replacer Queen] skin will be available, the [Overlord of the End World – Replacer King] skin and the [Frame: Noble Will] will be added to the Gauntlet Shop. In future seasons, when new Gauntlet skins are released, the [Late-night Encounter – Six-Wing Amy Firstwing] skin and the [Frame: Sub Rosa] will also be added.The limited Gauntlet skins and frames can be purchased for 500 Season Points, which CEOs earn at the end of each Gauntlet season.We hope that this update will provide a second chance for newer CEOs or those who were unable to obtain previous limited Gauntlet skins due to various circumstances.The changes will take effect on April 1 after the regular maintenance. [ Awakened Exclusive Gear ]Following the release of exclusive gear for Sprouting Star Solovey, the exclusive gear for Gha'agsheblah Eve Meitner was added on March 25.Since Gha'agsheblah Eve Meitner is an employee who is frequently used by new and returning CEOs, we have made her the first Awakened employee to receive exclusive gear.The next exclusive gear we have planned for is Yoo Mina: Fenrir Type, which can be obtained through Mainstream progression. In the future, we will continue adding exclusive gear for existing Awakened employees.Unlike the previous two, obtaining the exclusive gear for Yoo Mina: Fenrir Type will be available in the Mainstream and the Mainstream event shop, which will be added in the future update.We hope these additions will help new and returning CEOs reduce the burden of gear setup and enhance the gameplay experience.[ Balance Adjustments – Snipers]Following the balance adjustments for Rangers and Strikers, we are reviewing balance changes for Snipers in April.Similar to the Striker balance adjustments, we plan to tune the stats of Sniper employees. If further improvements are needed after the balance adjustments, we may introduce Alternium Reactors to enhance them further.More details on the targeted employees and specific adjustments will be posted in the upcoming patch notes.This concludes the brief overview of the April update.Thank you.

She has exceptional skills and a fierce expression, and rumors suggest she doesn't easily mingle with other sisters.However, that's just due to the tension before the battle, and Nicole, as we know, enjoys talking with others.While performing exorcism activities amidst these small misunderstandings, Vanguard Exorcist Nicole Primer encounters the Administrator, a customer of her barShe is flustered by a customer who recognizes her but also has a desire to greet him with a sense of familiarity. Please look forward to meeting another side of Nicole through this opportunity.[ New Operator - Agnes Abigail ]Agnes Abigail, the charming member of the Valentinus monastery, will be visiting the CEOs as an Operator.Egg tarts and beer are the top contributors to the Valentinus monastery's finances. However, only Agnes Abigail know the secretly passed-down recipe.Agnes Abigail will temporarily put aside her sisterhood and serve the CEOs egg tarts that cannot be tasted anywhere else.Please look forward to seeing a different side of Agnes Abigail.[ New Alternium Reactors ]The targets for this Alteranium Reactor are Six Wings Amy Firstwing, Clareth El Arcadena, and Mi Rinae.First, Amy is being prepared with a focus on enhancing her attack abilities and increasing her Hitstun resistance.Clareth's Special Skill activation conditions are planned to be eased, and Mi Rinae's Alteranium Reactor is being planned to enhance her Passive Skill.[ Balance Adjustment - Strikers ]Following the balance adjustments for some Rangers through the 1/21 update, balance adjustments for some Strikers are planned.The balance adjustments are being prepared with a focus on selecting employees with low usability to enhance the survivability of the target employees.Detailed information on the balance adjustments will be released through future patch notes.◆ TargetsYen Xing LanchesterLionaYanikka ShirokovaAuraSuicide Squad Joo Shiyoung[ End of Arcade Mode Schedule ]The Arcade Mode, which allows you to enjoy various Gauntlet modes, is scheduled to end.We have conducted various Arcade modes to provide CEOs with unique and different fun.However, we have determined that participation is being divided between Ranked Battle and Arcade, resulting in increased matching times for both contents.Therefore, we have decided to run the Arcade Mode only during the Tournament season to ensure smoother Ranked Battle progress.[ Ranked Battle Ban Rule Changes ]In Ranked Battles, some employees are selected as ban picks through Rotation Bans and Casting Bans.Employees selected as ban picks are difficult to utilize in Ranked Battles during the corresponding week due to increased deployment resources and debuff penalties.The development team has determined that situations frequently occur where employees are difficult to use in Ranked Battles, even after they have reached level 120 using a significant amount of resources.Therefore, we plan to change the ban rules to reduce the number of banned employees and the maximum ban value so that CEOs can utilize the employees more frequently.■ Rotation BanThe current Rotation Ban rules, which vary according to the number of released employees, will be changed to the following fixed value.- EmployeeBefore: 16After: 12- ShipBefore: 5After: 3■ Casting Ban- Selection CountBefore: 3After: 2- Ban CountBefore: 4After: 3- Casting Ban Rule ChangeBefore: Employees with 2 bans or more are not eligible for a Casting BanAfter: Employees with 1 ban or more are not eligible for a Casting Ban■ Other Changes- The Casting Ban list will be changed to display only the ban list for the current week.- In leagues below Challenger, points will no longer be deducted upon defeatThe changes are being prepared to be implemented by the April 1 update, which marks the start of the next season. We hope that CEOs will be able to utilize a wider variety of employees.[ Maximum Eternium Capacity and Charge Amount ]We are currently reviewing increasing the maximum capacity of Eternium, which is currently 30,000, and the recharge amount.CounterSide has various routes for acquiring resources, such as Dimension Trimming, Substream event shop, and Supply Operations.However, many CEOs have expressed regret that the maximum amount and recharge amount of Eternium, which is essential for resource acquisition, are insufficient.Therefore, the development team is considering improving the system in a way that increases the maximum Eternium holding capacity up to 50,000 depending on the account level, which also gradually increases the recharge amount.Please refer to the following information regarding the maximum Eternium holding capacity and recharge amount currently being planned.■ Increase in Maximum Eternium CapacityLevels 60-78: Increase capacity by 300 for each levelLevels 79-99: Increase capacity by 200 for each levelLevels 100-200: Increase capacity by 100 for each levelMaximum: 50,000■ Increase in Daily SupplyGradual increase from level 60 to level 200Daily Eternium supply at level 200: 43,200150 Eternium is acquired every 5 minutes[ Search Function ]The search function, which was mentioned during the CounterSide Origin 2nd Anniversary live stream, is scheduled to be added in March.The search function can be used not only for employees and gear but also in all management and storage areas, including ships, operators, trophies, and supplies.In addition, we are preparing features for setting detailed conditions to help you find the desired target more quickly.We are developing features such as searching for results that satisfy all conditions entered with commas (,), slashes (/), or spaces, or searching for results excluding certain conditions using the minus (-) sign.For example, if entering SSR Hil, the search result will give employees with “hil" included in the list of SSR employees. (in this case, Hilde: Siegfried Type).Another example is Striker -SSR, which would search for all non-SSR employees with a striker role.Condition-setting methods are still under development and may change when the actual update is applied.We are preparing to make the search function more convenient for CEOs, so please look forward to it.[ New Substream - Moonlight ] The new Substream episode, Moonlight, will be updated in April.[Moonlight] is the story of pseudo-religious, materialistic nuns who deceive people by disguising the Counterside Effect as paranormal events and extorting money.A wealthy person from the Chamber has tasked these nuns with resolving the supposed spiritual phenomenon. To do so, they will attempt a carefully crafted scam. Will their scheme succeed? And what dark secrets lie behind their forced lives as nuns? Find out in April.[Regarding the Appreciation Kit]Before addressing the delivery and contents of the Appreciation Kit, we would like to sincerely apologize once again for the significant amount of time it took to present it to our CEOs.Moreover, after the Appreciation Kit was delivered in Korea, we received feedback from many CEOs expressing disappointment due to the poor quality of the appreciation plaque. Before explaining the detailed circumstances, we deeply apologize for delivering a product with inadequate quality.First, we will explain the cause of the poor quality of the Appreciation Kit.This Appreciation Kit was scheduled to be delivered to CEOs in Korea and Global servers. We decided to produce the plaque using thick acrylic instead of glass or crystal to prevent damage during transit overseas.However, after checking the product, as the CEOs pointed out, the insufficient quality diminished the gratitude we intended to convey and caused great disappointment to the CEOs who were looking forward to it.This situation was caused entirely by our lack of planning and inspection, and we take full responsibility. We apologize to all the CEOs who were disappointed by this incident.Next, we will explain the follow-up action to address this issue.After consideration, we have determined that the best way to express our gratitude to our CEOs is to completely produce new appreciation plaques with new material and design and deliver them again. Furthermore, the new appreciation plaques will be produced in a single form to avoid low-quality assembly issues like the current one.We will provide the new appreciation plaques to Korean CEOs who have already received their kits. Global CEOs will receive a complete kit, including the new plaque, where delivery has not yet taken place.We sincerely apologize once again for causing concern to the CEOs due to various mistakes, and we will strive to rectify our mistakes step by step, even if it is slow. Solovey is a Ranger with Sure Fire ranged attacks utilizing her plant-based abilities.She is designed to deal massive damage to enemies with high EVA, working in synergy with nearby allies.▣ New Substream – Winter VacationThe new Substream, Winter Vacation, will follow Seo Yoon, who has recently returned to work alone after a serious injury sustained during the previous Qliphoth Game. As you may have already seen in the silhouette, this new employee is a nun. The contrast between the employee's pious appearance and a formidable weapon is sure to intrigue CEOs. Our development team is working hard to bring you a truly memorable employee. Stay tuned for more updates! ■ New Substream – MoonlightThe upcoming April Substream, Moonlight, will explore the story of a cult of phony nuns who exploit the Counterside Effect as a spiritual phenomenon to extort money from people.A wealthy person from Chamber, the main stage of the previous Substream Fallen Floor, has tasked these nuns with resolving the supposed spiritual phenomenon. To do so, they will attempt a carefully crafted scam. Will their scheme succeed? And what dark secrets lie behind their forced lives as nuns? Find out in April.■ New Gauntlet Skin – Empress of the End World Replacer QueenA new Gauntlet season begins in April, bringing with it a brand-new skin for the Awakened employee, Replacer Queen. This new skin, "Empress of the End World," maintains the consistent theme of the previous Replacer skins.To acquire this exclusive skin, reach Diamond League or higher in ranked battles during the season.■ Employee / Gear Search FunctionThere is a difficulty in quickly finding specific employees and gears using the current filter and sorting functions. To address this, we are introducing a new search function that allows CEOs to search for employees and gears by name. When searching for an employee, the search will return all employees whose names contain the search term. For example, searching for "Mina" will return results for SR Yoo Mina, SSR Expert Mercenary Yoo Mina, Yoo Mina: Fenrir Type.Similarly, searching for gears will return results based on the gear’s name, type, set bonuses, etc. With this new feature, you can easily manage your growing collection of employees and Equipment.■ Remaining Craft Limit Carryover※ The time in the screenshot is in (UTC+9).Following the recent update that introduced the employee max level expansion to 120, we have added a new resource, S-Fusion Core. As most of the CEOs are aware, the weekly craft limit for S-Fusion Cores is set at 15. Previously, any unused craft quota would be reset every Monday, regardless of whether you were able to craft the maximum number of cores.To alleviate the constraints caused by the remaining crafting count for S-Fusion Cores, starting from February 12, any unused weekly craft limit will be carried over to the following week. For example, if you only use 10 of your 15 weekly crafts in a given week, you'll have 20 crafts available the following week. Please note that this change will only apply to craft limits starting from February 12 due to technical limitations. ■ Operator CollectionFollowing the update that added profiles for our employees, we have heard your requests for profiles for operators. We are excited to announce that operators will now have profiles, similar to employees. Please note that since operators don't directly participate in combat, their profiles may not include combat-related stats such as CRF. We hope you enjoy learning more about your favorite operators through these new profiles.■ Awakened Employee / Operator Custom Pickup RecruitmentCounterSide currently features a Custom Pickup Recruitment system that allows CEOs to directly recruit desired SSR employees. However, this system has previously been limited to regular SSR employees, excluding Awakened employees and operators. This meant that CEOs had to wait for specific recruitment schedules to acquire their desired Awakened employees or operators.To address this inconvenience, we are introducing an updated Custom Pickup Recruitment system for Awakened employees and operators in the February update.For Awakened Custom Pickup Recruitment, we have set the number of recruitment target selections that CEOs want to 50, enabling CEOs to attempt to recruit any Awakened employee during the event period. Similar to Classified Recruitment, the number of Classified Recruitment attempts will be shared across all Awakened Custom Pickup Recruitment events.For Operator Custom Pickup Recruitment, we have also set the number of recruitment selections to 50, allowing CEOs to recruit any desired operator during the event period. Please note that the recruitment count for Operator Custom Pickup Recruitment will accumulate separately from other recruitment methods.Furthermore, we are increasing the number of recruitment selections for regular SSR employee Custom Pickup Recruitment from 3 to 50. We understand that 3 recruitment selections were insufficient for CEOs to acquire their desired SSR employees. With this increase, we hope you have a better chance of recruiting the employees. ■ Returning User Mission RevampIn order to assist CEOs who have been away from CounterSide in quickly reintegrating into the game, we have updated the Returning User Missions. The rewards for these missions have been revised to include valuable items such as Fusion Cores and S-Fusion Cores, enabling returning CEOs to quickly adjust to the game.Furthermore, we have reset the progress history for Returning User Missions. This allows CEOs who may have previously completed the missions but have since returned to the game to take advantage of the updated rewards and benefits in the future.■ Maestra Nequitia Tactical Update RevisionMaestra Nequitia, unlike other employees, has a unique combat style that doesn't involve basic attacks. As a result, she didn't fully benefit from previous Tactical Updates in the same way as other employees. To address this, we have adjusted the effects of Tactical Updates for Maestra Nequitia. Specifically, we have changed the effects of Lv.1 and Lv.4 Tactical Updates from increasing DMG AMP to DMG Taken RDC. This adjustment will allow her to navigate to the center of the battlefield more safely.■ Increase Substream Event Currency AmountWith the increasing demand for Eternium to obtain gears, resources, and other in-game items, farming event currency from Substreams to acquire collectible Flashback Scenes has become a significant burden for CEOs. To address this, we have been running weekly events that triple the amount of event currency dropped in specific Substreams.However, as the number of episodes continues to grow, we understand that the demand for Eternium remains high. To provide further relief, we are increasing the drop rate for event currency in these events from 3 to 5 folds. While this may not completely solve the Eternium shortage, we hope it will make farming event currency in Substreams a bit easier.■ Permanent Package ReformTo celebrate the Origin 2nd Anniversary, we are making some adjustments to our permanent packages. Some items will be added, while others will be replaced. To commemorate this special occasion, we will host a live stream on Friday, February 7 (UTC+9), during which we will answer your questions directly.The CounterSide Origin 2nd Anniversary live stream will be broadcast on the official CounterSide KR channel. Please note that the live stream will be conducted in Korean.However, for our global CEOs, we will be providing English subtitles and uploading English versions of all images used during the broadcast to the official CounterSide Global channel as soon as possible.We understand that many of you have felt distant because the previous broadcasts were pre-recorded. We felt the same way, not being able to interact directly with our CEOs.When I first started filming these broadcasts, I expressed concern about conducting a live stream due to the lack of experience. However, after the interactions at the AGF (Anime Game Festival) and witnessing the immense love and affection for CounterSide, we decided to host a live stream for the Origin 2nd Anniversary.While this is the first live stream, we will do our best to make it an enjoyable experience for everyone.During the live stream, we will be sharing updates on the Origin 2nd Anniversary and future updates for CounterSide.Therefore, we apologize for this month’s dev notes being shorter than usual.We will also be holding a Q&A session during the livestream to answer your questions.As such, please submit your questions through the link below, and we will select some to answer during the livestream. Please kindly understand that we will also provide the answer in English after the broadcast.▷ [CounterSide Origin 2nd Anniversary: Your Questions, Our Answers!]◆ Survey Schedule- Jan. 24 - Feb. 5, 2025, 09:59 (UTC-5)◆ Participation Reward- 30 Set BinariesWe look forward to your participation and the Origin 2nd Anniversary Livestream. [ Ranked Battle ]Following our previous dev notes on potential improvements to the Ranked Battle, we have received a lot of valuable feedback from our CEOs.One specific concern that was raised was the unlimited point acquisition system, which could negatively impact the competitive environment for top-tier CEOs.To address this, we're considering a system where the deletion of points deducted upon losses will only apply to certain leagues. For higher-ranked leagues, we plan to increase the points deducted for losses and introduce a system where CEOs who don't play a certain number of matches per week will have their points reduced.Additionally, we are exploring various options to improve the overall experience, such as adjusting the starting points for new seasons and adjusting the point and league systems and rewards.While we expect these changes to be implemented in the next Gauntlet season, please note that the specific details are still under discussion and may be subject to change.We will provide a more detailed update in our February or March dev notes.[ Awakened Employee Exclusive Gear ]Alongside the upcoming Awakened employee, we are introducing Awakened employee Exclusive gear. Our goal is to create Exclusive gear for all future Awakened employees, starting with next Awakened employee. We are currently considering the possibility of releasing Exclusive gear for existing Awakened employees as well.Awakened employee Exclusive gear can be obtained directly from the Substream's hard difficulty with a very low drop rate. The overall performance of this new gear is designed to be comparable to tier 7 Relic Gear.Unlike existing Exclusive gear for Normal employees, this will include weapon, armor, and accessories, providing more flexibility in customizing your employees.[ Consortium Coalition Buff ]Many CEOs have requested improvements to the Consortium Coalition Buff.We understand that the current time-limited nature of the buff places a burden on CEOs who serve as an Executive. To address this, we have made several adjustments. First, on January 21, we significantly reduced the cost of activating the buff.Furthermore, in February, we will be introducing 3-day and 7-day buff options to provide CEOs with more flexibility.We believe these changes will help CEOs achieve more effective growth.This concludes our brief overview of the Origin 2nd Anniversary live stream, Ranked Battle, Awakened employee Exclusive gear, and Consortium Coalition Buff.For more detailed information, please join us for the live stream.
